Starting April 2027, a new residency status system called “Ikusei Shuro” will replace the current Technical Intern Training Program. Going forward, accepting, hiring, and retaining foreign talent under the “Ikusei Shuro” and “Specified Skilled Worker” frameworks will become increasingly important.
